She’s so fresh. And relatable, and funny. And this all comes through in her face: Dilone, the tomboy Victoria’s Secret model.
She’s got a really…I can’t think of a clever word – the best I can think of is ‘scrummy’ – face. She’s clearly full of mischief and down to earth, but also has insane bone structure and soft brown eyes and amazing tomboy, curly haircut. One of nine siblings, of Dominican descent, Dilone took on her family name (full name Janiece Altagracia Dilone) and grew up in Long Island.
Getting signed at 21 to DNA, having tried modelling a few years previously, Dilone’s breakthrough was walking for Marc Jacobs and has since appeared on the cover of cool editorials like Ten.
Yet she also gets great commercial work like VS, standing out at the afterparties from the perfectly coiffed blondes in tight mini dresses.
Fashion needs more fun, and Dilone delivers it. Yet I also love her pictures for Elle, wearing the late, great Alaïa with the legend that is Lindbergh. It’s like all that energy is still chanelled but into something very soft and vital.
She’s vibrant and silly, sweet and cool, and has a face & attitude that lends itself to longevity in the modelling industry. Yes, Dilone!
